Julie Ann McDonald

Julie Ann McDonald went to be with her heavenly Father, July 24, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 39 years young.


She was surrounded by her family at her home.


Her beautiful service was held at 10 a.m. July 27, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Frankston, Texas by pastors Ron Ivey and Scott Wiley.


Julie loved to travel, the beach, her friends, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.


She is survived by her loving husband, Kevin, her adoring son, Mason, and two devoted daughters Ashton and Presley; her mother, Terry Drier; brother and sister-in-law Raymond and Meagan Brooks; two nephews Kannon Brooks and Jacob Willingham; and by her father and mother-in- law Roger and Kay McDonald.

She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Brooks, and sister Kristi Richards.


Julie will be remembered by all as a sweet, generous and loving person who always put others before herself. Everyone has a purpose and everything has a reason behind it even if we may not understand it. So as our sweet Julie would say, "Live this day!"


David Ray Brown

Funeral services for David Ray Brown, 51, of Missouri, formerly of Dogwood City, were held Saturday, July 28, 2012, at the Assembly of God Church, Frankston, with the Rev. J.A. Griffin officiating.


Burial was at Frankston City Cemetery.


Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.


Mr. Brown passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012, in Springfield, Mo.


He was born August 22, 1960, in Nacogdoches.


Mr. Brown was a cook in the restaurant business.


Survivors include his parents Melvin and Barbara Brown of Frankston, and brother Steven Brown of Frankston.


Cousins served as pallbearers.



Obituaries for Aug. 9, 2012


Larry ‘Bico’ Dunklin

Memorial services for Larry “Bico” Dunklin, 73, of Frankston, were held Saturday, August 4, 2012, at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston with the Rev. George Folmar and the Rev. Doug Howell officiating.


Mr. Dunklin passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012, in Tyler.


He was born November 18, 1938, in Frankston.


Mr. Dunklin was a Union pipefitter and a member of United Methodist Church in Frankston. He also served in the U.S. Navy.


He is preceded in death by his father Lloyd Dunklin and sister Barbara Holt.


Survivors include his wife Sherry Dunklin of Frankston; mother Susie Dunklin of Frankston; daughters Larra Selman and husband Adam of Frankston and April Crowson and husband Lance of Frankston; son Scot Hudnall of New Boston; brothers James Dunklin and John Dunklin; sisters Doris Belcher, Martha Clark, and Judy Lookabaugh; and five grandchildren Tye Griffin, Jordan Griffin, Callie Selman, Ryli Hudnall, and Karli Crowson.

Carol ‘Honey’ Burson

Memorial services for Carol “Honey” Burson, 85, of Frankston, were held Saturday, August 4, 2012, at Hilltop
Baptist Church in Frankston with the Rev. George Folmar officiating.


Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.


Mrs. Burson passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2012, in Tyler.


She was born January 28, 1927, in Winnfield, Louisiana.


Mrs. Burson was a Baptist and was formerly a cashier.


She is preceded in death by her husband Joe A. Burson, son Roy Allan Burson, and one sister.


Survivors include her sons Ronnie L. Burson and wife Claire C. of Edmond, Okla. and Bobby R. Burson and wife Barbara of Melborne, Fla.; daughters Enese Burson of Frankston, Laura Montgomery of Houston and Carolyn Jo Roche of San Antonio; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.



Karen Campbell Osburn

Funeral services for Karen Campbell Osburn, 55, of Marble Falls, formerly of Frankston, were held Tuesday August 7, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Frankston with the Rev. Scott Wiley and the Rev. Gary Campbell officiating.


Burial was held at Poynor Cemetery.


Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.


Mrs. Osburn passed away Friday, August 3, 2012, in Temple.


She was born February 18, 1957, in Angleton, Texas, to Bobby and Chevala Campbell


Mrs. Osburn worked as a florist and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Frankston.


She is preceded in death by her father, grandparents Claud and Jewel Deel and Oscar and Myrtis Campbell a brother James “Smitter” Smith, nieces Kala Smith and Lori Campbell.


Survivors include her husband Bob of Marble Falls; mother Billie Campbell of Frankston, daughters Krissi Mills and husband Terry of Brownsboro, Jaye Lynn James, Marble Falls, and Tina Uvalle and husband Joe of Granite Shoals, Texas, brothers Gary Campbell and wife Marlene of Boyd, Texas, and Bobby L. Campbell Jr. of Frankston; sister Tracie Smith of Frankston; mother-in-law Billie Osburn of Shiner Texas; grandchildren Morgan, Maddox, Korbin, Gloria, Devin, Adrian, Joseph, and Joslynn and several nieces and nephews.


Pallbearers were Don Tillman, Ronnie Tillman, Mike Tillman, Josiah Campbell, Skyler Smith, Rusty Campbell, Eric Campbell, and Marty Partida.


Honorary pallbearers were the nephews.



Obituaries for Aug. 16, 2012


William Donald Westbrook

Funeral services for William Donald Westbrook, 73, of Tyler, formerly of Frankston, were scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at Autry Funeral Home chapel in Frankston with the Rev. Ron Ivey officiating.


Burial was to follow at Starrville Cemetery, Starrville.


Mr. Westbrook passed away Monday, August 13, 2012, in Tyler after a long battle with congestive failure.


He was born April 7, 1939, in Frankston. He and his wife June were married for 43 years and lived all their married life in Tyler.


Mr. Westbrook was a retired welder in refinery maintenance. He was a Baptist, loved reading the Bible, bird watching, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by many.


He was preceded in death by his parents A.M. and Maggie Westbrook, and sister Delores Pagitt.


Survivors include his wife June Westbrook of Tyler; sons Roy Westbrook and wife Nonnie of Frankston, Danny Westbrook and wife Joyce of Frankston, and Alan Westbrook of Arp; daughters Ladonna Singer and husband Steve of Carrollton, Brenda Morris and husband Donnie of Frankston, and Margaret Brumblow and husband Gary of Whitehouse; sister Deborah Carter and husband James of Frankston; eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.


Pallbearers were to be Daniel Westbrook, Taylor Morris, Waylon Morris, David Lee Westbrook, Craig Rainwater, Kirk Rainwater, and Chuck Rainwater.


Visitation with the family was to have been from from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Obituaries for Aug. 23, 2012


Edna Lee Costlow Owens


Mrs. Edna Lee Costlow Owens went to her final place of rest on Aug. 19, 2012.


Mrs. Owens was 96-years-old. She was born in Henderson County January 24, 1916, and spent her life in Anderson, Cherokee, and Henderson Counties. She was a faithful member of LaPoynor Church of Christ. Mrs. Owens retried as a nurse from Nan Travis Hospital in Jacksonville in 1984. Most of all she will be remembered for her loving affection, untiring devotion to her family, and her unwavering spirit.


She is survived by son Billy Joe Owens and wife Karen of Fincastle; son Tommy Owens and wife Jeanene of Mesquite; son-in-law Dewey Prater and wife Barbara of Kilgore; brother Delton Costlow and wife Bea of Stanton; sister-in-law Micky Costlow of Chickasha, OK; six grandchildren, Jim Owens and wife Joan of Chicago, Il, Roger Owens and wife Vicki of Edwardsville, Il, Kalei Owens Mayfield and husband Mark of Pearland, Dena Prater Weeks and husband Steve of Seagoville, Jason Owens of Fincastle, and Toni Prater Parrish and husband Charlie of Lubbock; twelve great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.


She is preceded in death by husband Bernice Owens, daughter Judy Beth Owens Prater, parents John and Sallie Costlow, sister Eva Merle Richardson and brother Quinton Costlow.


The family would especially like to thank the staff of Frankston Health Care Center and Heart to Heart Hospice for their care and kind support during her final days. Thanks also to special friends Jinks Morton and Nadine Parrott for their friendship and concern.


Funeral services were to be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston, with Steve Weeks officiating.


Burial was to be at Fincastle Cemetery, Fincastle.


Pallbearers were to be Mark Mayfield, Charlie Parrish, Jim Owens and Dewey Prater.



Obituaries for Aug. 30, 2012


Jo Bell Smith

Funeral services for Jo Bell Smith, 57, of Frankston, were scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at Autry Funeral Home chapel in Frankston with the Rev. J. A. Griffin officiating.


Burial was to be held at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Frankston.


Mrs. Smith passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, in Frankston.


She was born August 13, 1955, in Dallas.


Mrs. Smith was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Frankston and was a homemaker.


She is preceded in death by her father Clyde H. Bell.


Survivors include her husband J. D. Smith of Flint; mother Ruth E. Bell of Frankston; sisters Rhonda S. Tunstill and husband Fred of Canton, Kathy L. Morris and husband Don of Frankston and Carolyn R. Evans and husband Ken of Hurst; and eight nieces and nephews.


Pallbearers were to be Nathan Evans, Ben McKinney, Terry Stevenson, Glenn Johnston, Terry Castle, and Michael Wilson.


Visitation with the family was to be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.
