Obituaries for Jan. 5, 2012


Isabel Walker Grable

Funeral services for Isabel Walker “Aunt Sis” Grable, 90, of Frankston, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at Autry Funeral Home chapel in Frankston with Don Canter officiating.


Burial will be at Myrtle Springs Cemetery, Fincastle, Texas.


Mrs. Grable passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, in Sarasota, Florida.


She was born May 29, 1921 in LaRue.


Mrs. Grable was a property manager and a member of the Frankston Church of Christ.


She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Eugene Grable.


Survivors include daughters Paula Baxter and husband Rick of Sarasota, Fla. and Pamela Diamond of Sarasota, Fla.; sister Susie Dunklin of Athens; grandchildren John Paul Perry, Ian Perry, and Tamara Falvai; great grandchildren Caelum Perry and Sophie Falvai; and several nieces and nephews.


Visitation with the family will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.



Charlotte Rayburn Bailey

Funeral services for Charlotte Rayburn Bailey, 69, of Jacksonville, was scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at Autry Funeral Home chapel in Jacksonville with Pastor Keith Hague officiating.


Burial was to follow at Earle’s Chapel cemetery in Jacksonville.


Mrs. Bailey passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012, in Frankston.


She was born Nov. 8, 1942, in L. A. County, California.


Mrs. Bailey was a bookkeeper for Summit Oil Industry and Path Products, and she was a Baptist.


She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Eugene “Gene” Bailey and parents Earl Branson and Vera Marie Baker Rayburn.


Survivors include her daughter Shellie Bailey and Tommy Sharp; son Troy Bailey; sister L. D. and Sheila Rayburn; brother Michael Rayburn; grandchildren Daniel Bailey and Kathryn Bailey; and several nieces and nephews.


Pallbearers will be nephews Rodney Thompson, Russell Thompson, Donald Causey, Steve Causey, Ricky Murphy, Rodney Curry and Scott Causey.


Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffrey Rayburn and Blake Causey.


Visitation with the family was held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.



Richard Donald ‘Trey’ Thomas III

Richard Donald “Trey” Thomas III, 27, whose hometown was Frankston but was currently living in Perryton in the Texas panhandle, died in an accident on Thursday, Dec. 22.


Burial was held at the Ochiltree Cemetery with arrangements by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Perryton, Texas.


Mr. Thomas died at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 22 in a one-vehicle rollover 19 miles south of Perryton on Hyw. 83.


Mr. Thomas was born Jan. 6, 1984, in Ennis to Richard D. Thomas and Karen Thomas-Stutts. He was married to Jennifer Reed of Poynor on Jan. 11, 2002, in Poynor.


Survivors include his wife, Jenny Thomas; his four children, Bianca Thomas, Mason Thomas, Jocelynn (JoJo) Thomas, and four-month-old Kash Thomas; his older sister, Alicia Walker; brothers Bryan and Erik Stutts; and sister Angella Hendryx; parents Daniel and Karen Stutts of Frankston; and grandmother, Ruth Ary, and other family Chris, Shawn and Skye Thomas.


“Trey was greatly loved and will be greatly missed,” the family said.



Hazel Taylor

Graveside services for Hazel Taylor, 81, of Berryville, were held Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at Crim’s Chapel Cemetery in Henderson, Texas with the Rev. Gloria Love officiating.


Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.


Mrs. Taylor passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, in Berryville.


She was born December 12, 1930, in Hope, Arkansas.


Mrs. Taylor was a Baptist and a meat processor.


She was preceded in death by her husband Jessie Taylor; daughter Joannie Thompson; and great-granddaughter Erica Jo Jones.


Survivors include son Joe Taylor and wife Shirley of Henderson; daughter Judy Crawford of Berryville; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.


Pallbearers were her children and grandchildren.

Everett R. Waldrum

Funeral services for Everett R. Waldrum, 89, of Frankston, were held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at Hilltop Baptist Church in Berryville with the Rev. George Folmar and the Rev. James Engle officiating.


Burial was at Wofford Cemetery, Frankston.


Mr. Waldrum passed away Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, in Tyler.


He was born May 7,1922, in Wimple, Louisiana.


Mr. Waldrum was a teacher and retired elementary principal. He served in the Marine Corps and was a POW. Mr. Waldrum was a Baptist.


He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Elizabeth Autrey Waldrum; sisters Rachel Lindsey and Helen Jo Guillott; brother James Waldrum; and great grandson, Lee Thomas Green, IV.


Survivors include his wife Ruby M. Waldrum of Frankston; sons Randall C. Waldrum of Willis and Lee T. Green, III of Frankston; daughters Vannessa Clark of Cushing, Okla. and Vannelle Bagwell of Tyler; sister Ruth Cowger of Frankston; brother John C. Waldrum of Pearsall, Texas; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.


Pallbearers were Shane Waldrum, Matthew Waldrum, Joshua Green, Seth Green, Adrian (Snapper) Guillot, Ron Ivey, Bill Hardin, and Bill Gulihur.


Honorary pallbearers were nephews, members of Hilltop Baptist Church, brother Masons, and sisters of The Eastern Star.



Betty Jo Bloxom

Graveside services for Betty Jo Bloxom, 90, of Frankston, were to be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at Frankston City Cemetery with John Bloxom officiating.


Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.


Mrs. Bloxom passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, in Temple.


She was born October 3, 1921, in Mertens, Texas.


Mrs. Bloxom was a homemaker and a Baptist.


She is preceded in death by her husband Raymond E. Bloxom.


Survivors include three sons John Bloxom and wife Debbie of Temple, James Bloxom and wife Sarah of Bullard, and Rusty Bloxom of Liberty; grandchildren Sarah Duck-Mayr and husband J.B. of Waco, Rebecca Radley and husband Nathan of Houston, Margaret Bloxom and Lillian Bloxom, both of Bullard and two great grandchildren.




Ellen Charlene Robison

Funeral services for Ellen Charlene Robison, 83, of Frankston, were held Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at the Assembly God in Frankston with the Rev. Leslie Bartley and the Rev. J.A. Griffin officiating.


Mrs. Robison was a member at Frankston Assembly God.


She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Rosa Hulsey, and her three brothers, Eugene, Earl and Glen Hulsey.


Survivors include her husband Audrey Robison of Frankston; son Greg Robison and wife Paula of Gilmer; daughters Wanda Erekson and husband Robbie of Palestine, Carol Perry of Frankston and Pamela Whittenburg and husband Tommy of Elkhart; brothers Olen Hulsey of Forney and Charles Hulsey of Tyler; sisters Frances Bartley and husband Leslie of Shreveport and Glenda Tate and husband Charles of Arp; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.



Walter Green

Funeral services for Walter Green, 98, of Frankston, were held Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at Autry Funeral Home chapel in Frankston with Brother Ron Ivy officiating.


Burial was at Garden Oaks Cemetery, Berryville.


Mr. Green passed away Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, in Abilene, Texas.


He was born March 21, 1913, in Winters, TX.


Mr. Green was a farmer, oil field pumper and a volunteer fireman in Winters for more than 30 years.


He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Green; sons Walter J. Green Jr. and Gary Dixon Green; brothers Oliver Green and Eddie Green; sisters Nelda Brittle, Loreta King, and Ora Vialpando; grandson W.J. Green, III; and granddaughter Shelly Layne Green.


Survivors include his son Cary Green and wife Carol of Jacksonville; daughter Lavanda Webb of Abilene; 5 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.


In lieu of flowers memorial can be made to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1682 Hickory Street Abilene, Texas 79601-2941.

John Allen Wheeler

Funeral services for John Allen Wheeler, 76, of Frankston, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at Autry Funeral Home chapel in Frankston with the Rev. J. A. Griffin officiating.


Burial will be at Frankston City Cemetery.


Mr. Wheeler passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, in Frankston.


He was born Feb. 6, 1935, in Kanawha, Texas.


Mr. Wheeler was a member of the Frankston Assembly of God and was a retired carpenter.


He was preceded in death by his wife Ilene Glaze Wheeler, granddaughter Sara Wheeler and daughter-in-law Brenda Wheeler.


Survivors include sons Johnny C. Wheeler and Don Frank Wheeler of Frankston; daughters Shirley Gail Follbaum of Mesquite, Linda Fay Rodgers of Frankston and Jeannine Douglas of Jacksonville; sisters Virginia Lee Mucklow and husband Lee of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Rebecca Ann Belshe and husband Ronny of Plano; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brothers-in-law Norman Glaze and wife Patsy of Sunnyville and Samuel Glaze of Dallas.


Visitation with the family will be from 6 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Thelma Pauline Hollingsworth

Funeral services for Thelma Pauline Hollingsworth, 82, of Frankston, were held Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at Frankston Assembly of God with the Rev. J.A. Griffin and the Rev. Michael Griffin officiating.


Burial was at Frankston City Cemetery.


Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.


Mrs. Hollingsworth passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, in Frankston.


She was born June 2, 1929, in Anderson County, Texas.


Mrs. Hollingsworth was a member of the Assembly of God in Frankston, and a retired linotype operator for The Frankston Citizen newspaper.


She was preceded in death by her husband R.F. “Jack” Hollingsworth; son Ronnie Franklin Hollingsworth; parents Reed and Evie George Smith; and brother Elton Smith.


Survivors include her son Rayburn Hollingsworth from Jacksonville, and sister Opaline McDonald of Frankston, three grandchildren Jasen Paul Hollingsworth and wife Candie of Palestine, Rebecca Stevens and husband Kelly of Waxahachie, Misty-Ray Martin and husband Gabe of Milton, Fla., seven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.


Pallbearers were Kelly Stevens, Gabe Martin, B.J. Smith, Anthony Corpus, Keith Tillman and Ronnie Myers.



David Wayne Howell Jr.

David Wayne Howell Jr. passed away Jan. 19, 2012, at the age of 44.


David was born to the Late David Wayne Howell Sr. and Martha Drew Howell in Tyler, on Oct. 31, 1967.


He was a lifelong resident of the Lake Palestine area. He attended and graduated from Frankston High School in 1986. He worked as a roughneck, correctional officer and at Carrier.


David may be gone, but he will never be forgotten, family members said.


He is preceded in death by David Howell Sr., father; Jerry and Linda Howell, uncle and aunt; Corbit and Lavada Howell, grandfather and grandmother; Cindy Dingler and Zachary Browne, cousins.


He is survived by son Brian Smith of Neches; mother Martha Howell of Frankston; sisters and brothers-in-law Rita and Mike Deckert, Donna and Bill Garrow; nieces Maegan Deckert and Samantha Garrow; nephew Logan Deckert; great-nephew “C. J.” Ervin, all of Frankston, and a host of other family members living in the East Texas area.


A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at Hilltop Baptist Church located at 11269 H.C.R. 4117 in Berryville.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Mrs. Martha Howell.



Fred Carter

Funeral services for Fred Carter, 95, of Frankston, were held Tuesday, Jan. 24, at LaPoynor Church of Christ with Steve Handley and John Haffner officiating.

Burial was at LaRue Cemetery.


Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.


Mr. Carter passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, in Frankston.


He was born Nov. 10, 1916, in LaRue.


Mr. Carter was a member and past elder at LaPoynor Church of Christ, served in the United States Army, and was a retired field supervisor for Champlain Oil Co.


He was preceded in death by his sisters Bessie Gallegher and Eva Nell Jolly.


Survivors include wife Opal Carter of Frankston; sons Ford Carter and wife Linda of Emory, Mike Patrick and wife Judy of Weatherford and Jerry Patrick and wife Donna of Idaho Springs, Colo.; daughters Elaine Culp of Duncanville and Lynn Dickey and husband Bill of Fort Smith, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother Jake Carter of Lubbock; sister Barbara Cummings of LaRue; and several nieces and nephews.


Pallbearers were Jason Barr, David Dickey, Van Patrick, Michael Gibson, Eddy Russell, Bill Cramer.


Honorary pallbearers were the men of the LaPoynor Church of Christ.
