Alice "Sis" Pipes
Graveside services for Alice "Sis" Pipes, 87, Frankston, were held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at Wofford Cemetery, Frankston, with the Rev. George Folmar officiating under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston.
Ms. Pipes died Saturday, Oct. 28, in Frankston.
She was born Nov. 11, 1912, in Louisiana. She was a Methodist
Survivors include a sister, Willie Cole of Arnold, Mo.; nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Robert Rogers, Chris Rogers, Brian Rogers, Jason Smith, Johnny Burks and Billy Burks Westbrook.
Honorary pallbearers were Billy Bacon and Pete Westbrook.
Ronnie Mitchell
ATHENS - Funeral services for Ronnie Lee Mitchell, 53, of Athens, were held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at the Frankston Evangelistic Church with the Revs. Jerry Stanger and Doug McLendon officiating.
Burial was in Old Bethel Cemetery under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston.
Mr. Mitchell died Friday, Oct. 27, in Athens.
He was born July 15, 1947, in Jacksonville.
Mr. Mitchell was owner of Mitchell Mobile Home Service of Frankston and a member and elder of Berryville Community Church.
Survivors include his wife, Diana Mitchell of Athens; his mother, Dina Mitchell of Frankston; a son, Douglas McLendon of Mesquite; daughters, LaDonna Becker of Garland and Danette Dulaney of Wylie; a brother, Hayden Mitchell of Frankston; one niece; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Chris Dulaney, Warren Becker, Roy Socia, Ronnie Finley, Bryan Sanders, Ronnie Henderson and Frankie Davenport.
Lola Hoffman
LONGVIEW - Funeral services for Lola Hoffman, 70, of Longview, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Rader Funeral Home chapel, Longview, with the Rev. Dwayne Beaty officiating.
Burial was at 1:30 p.m. in the Frankston City Cemetery.
Mrs. Hoffman died Sunday, Oct. 29, at her residence.
She was born May 31, 1930, in Robbins, Tenn., and resided in Longview for 42 years.
She was a former owner of Casey's Southwest Treasures and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Lewis Hoffman, Longview; daughter, Maryann Flewharty, Gilmer; and one granddaughter.Vaughn.
Charles Henry Williams
Memorial services for Charles Henry Williams, 35, of Dallas were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Wofford Cemetery, Frankston, with Pattie Williams officiating.
Mr. Williams died Monday, Oct. 23.
He was born Oct. 11, 1965.
Survivors include his mother, Bonnie Smith of Frankston; a brother, David Williams of Frankston; six sisters, Linda Stanley and Betty Locklin, both of Seagoville, Deborah Christie of Frankston, Janet Farmer and Nelda Meeks, both of Dallas, and Donna Reynolds of Oakwood.

Lucille Mary Frazier
Funeral services for Lucille Mary Frazier, 80, of San Antonio, were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9 at Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church, Athens, with Rev. Arnold Walker officiating.
Burial was at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio at 10:15 a.m., Friday, Nov. 10 with Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Frazier died Tuesday, Nov. 7 at a Frankston nursing home.
She was born Jan. 20, 1920 in Westphalia, TX to the late John and Elizabeth Moeller Beach. She was a resident of San Antonio for over 30 years and was preceded in death by her husband Purvis W. Frazier, Nov. 2, 1987 and sister Helen Tobias. She was a military wife and mother for over 38 years and raised her children in many places around the world.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Loretta A. and Daniel K. Neel, LaRue; son, Purvis W. Frazier, San Antonio; grandchildren, Kimberley Lee, Axtell; and Shantell Emerine, Frankston; great-grandchildren, Karen Emerine and Kelly Emerine, both of Frankston; sisters, Pat Henry and Betty Seawright, both of Robinson; and Mildred Frazier, Lorena.

Charlie Wilborn Pagitt
Funeral services for Charlie Wilborn Pagitt, 86, of Poynor were held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at the Poynor Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Godwin officiating.
Burial was in Poynor Cemetery under direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Frankston.
Mr. Pagitt died Friday, Nov. 10, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 19, 1914 in Poynor. He had lived in Poynor all his life.
Mr. Pagitt was a post office caretaker. He served in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant during World War II. He was a member of the Poynor Baptist Church and was a member of VFW Post 5073 in Frankston.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, step mother, five brothers, two sisters, two step brothers and six step sisters.
Survivors include his wife, June G. Pagitt of Poynor; a son, John Robert Pagitt of Poynor; a daughter, Darlene Pagitt Deal of Poynor; step daughters, Linda Newland of Chandler and Karen Barnhart of Athens; a step son, Randy Williams of Bois d'arc; three step sons in California; one granddaughter, several step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one step brother, J.W. Dickerson, California; two step sisters, Mae Gilliland, Frankston and Lucy Jo Coats Mathews, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers were Jimmy McCarty, Billy Joe Pagitt, Johnny Fisher, Dan Hunter, Bob Walker, Dan Taylor, A.B. Roberts and Thomas Ray Pagitt.
Honorary pallbearers were Mickey Boyd and men and women of VFW Post 5073 in Frankston.
Fred M. Garrett
TYLER - Funeral services for Fred M. Garrett, 81, of Tyler were held Friday, Nov. 10, at First Christian Church with the Rev. Bennie Braddick and Dr. Ray Bristol officiating.
Burial was in Cathedral in the Pines under direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler.
Mr. Garrett died Wednesday, Nov. 8, in a Tyler nursing home.
He was born March 3, 1919 in Frankston, son of the late B.L. and Emma Garrett, and lived in Tyler for 45 years. Mr. Garrett served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired as an independent oil operator since the early 1950s and was a member of First Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Joan Garrett.
Survivors include his wife, Ernestine H. Garrett, Tyler; sons, Fred L. Garrett and Donald V. Garrett, both of Tyler; daughters, Sherry Garrett, Austin, and Patty L. Garrett, Tyler; step sons, W.L. "Bill" Nobles, Elizabeth, Colo., and Harris Nobles, Tyler; step daughter, Mary N. Reardon, Austin; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Pallbearers were John Pierson, Gordon Campbell, Noel Robert, Buddie Perkins, Billy Primo and David Dieckman.
Honorary pallbearers were Sally Davis, Leona Jones, Ola Muse, Fred Brock, Richard Gibson and staff at Reunion Plaza.

Fred A. "Dick" Perry
PALESTINE- Funeral services for Fred A. "Dick" Perry, 70, of Palestine, were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home Chapel in Palestine, with the Revs. Danny Biddy and Tommy Caskey officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Park.
Mr. Perry died Wednesday, Nov. 15, in a Palestine hospital
He was born June 7, 1930, in Cherokee County, son of F.E. and Ima Foster Perry.
Mr. Perry served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a self-employed investor, a Baptist and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3907 and Society of 34d Infantry Division of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Perry was preceded in death by his father, F.E. Perry, and brother, Tom Perry.
Survivors include daughters, Jeannie Litchfield, Brenda Gross, Tennessee Colony, and Linda Richardson, Frankston; son, Tyron Cobble, Palestine; mother, Ima Grace Perry, Palestine; sisters, Ann Perry and Dorothy Henderson, both of Palestine, and Eloise Roberts, Poynor; brothers, Troy Perry, Center, Charlie Perry, Palestine, Blue Perry, San Augustine, J.L. Perry, Andrews, Pop Perry, Madisonville, and Jim Perry, Ackerly; special friend, Nelda Clay, Palestine; eight-grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Pont Killion, Jesse Foster, Johnny Foster, Dewey Ferrell, Billy Joe Warren Jr. and James Bullard.

C.L. "Mike" Williams
Funeral services for C.L. "Mike" Williams, 79, of Van were held at 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at Van United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Dornbush and Brother Kenneth Meadows officiating.
Private graveside services were held in Fairway Garden of Memories under direction of Hilliard Funeral Home, Van.
Mr. Williams died Saturday, Nov. 25, in a Tyler hospital.
He was born Sept. 16, 1921 in Pineville, La. and grew up in Frankston. He married Hazel Langston in Rusk on Jan. 4, 1945.
Mr. Williams was in the U.S. Navy in World War II, serving aboard the USS Saratoga. He was in 13 major battles, six assault landings, including battles at Tarawa, Rabaul, Fiji, the Solomon Island, Guadalcanal, Esperinos and Tonga. He survived his ship being torpedoed at Guadalcanal. After the war, he returned to East Texas.
He graduated from East Texas State University and accepted his first teaching position at Athens High School in 1951. In 1957 he moved to Van to become industrial arts teacher at Van High School, where he continued his career until his retirement in 1980. He was selected as outstanding industrial arts teacher for the state of Texas in 1966.
Mr. Williams was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church, Texas State Teachers Assn., Industrial Arts Teachers Assn., Van Zandt County Retired Teachers, Veterans of the USS Saratoga, Guadalcanal Veteran, Scoutmaster including Order of the Arrow member, and Van ISD board member.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Hazel Langston Williams; son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Diana Williams; daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Steve Clanton; grandchildren, Shannon and Ryan Williams, Michael, Mark, Michelle and Matthew Clanton. Other family members include a brother and sisters-in-law, J. H. Williams and Marilyn Williams, and Mary Helen Williams, all of Frankston, and Laura Jo Gipson of Garden Valley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Evans Williams of Frankston.
Pallbearers were Bob Rusk, Cleone Tunnell, Kevin Stanford, Daniel Payne, William Henderson, Wiley Warren, Charles McAffree and Roy Evans.
Honorary pallbearers were Johnnie Hitt, Delbert Smith, J.D. Henderson, George Blackburn, Marie Hale, Robbie Sanders, Glenda Thompson, Eulene Sherbert, Jack Valentine and James Golden.
If desired, memorials may be made to Van United Methodist Church or Van School Auditorium.
Alvis D. Tarrant
Funeral services for Alvis D. Tarrant, 83, of Frankston were held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at Thompson Funeral Home in Frankston with Rev. Jeff Godwin officiating.
Burial was in Frankston City Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Frankston.
Mr. Tarrant died Tuesday, Nov. 21, at his residence in Frankston.
He was born Aug. 27, 1917 in Bullard. He was a Methodist and former owner of Westside Grocery in Frankston.
Mr. Tarrant served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He was a lifetime member of the DAV and VFW in Frankston.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Tarrant of Frankston; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cheri and Don Abbott of Tyler, and Deborah Tarrant of Frankston; two brothers, Lowell Tarrant of Palestine and Duell Tarrant of Frankston; and special friends, Lisa Traylor, Laverne Grubbs, John Taylor and Dr. James Branch and staff.
Pallbearers were Bobby Bradford, Herbert Riley, Melvin Bizzell, Al Mann, Mickey Tarrant and Johnny Taylor.
Bob Garrett
LARUE - Funeral services for Bob Garrett, 73, of LaRue, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home chapel in Athens, with the Rev. Jeff Godwin officiating.
Burial was in LaRue Cemetery.
Mr. Garrett died Sunday, Nov. 26.
He was born Dec. 19, 1926 in Mount Pleasant to Floyd Eugene and Bedie Ann Thompson Garrett. He lived in LaRue for the last 10 years
Mr. Garrett served in the Army during World War II, and was a self-employed sales representative and also sold golf carts.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shawna Dee Garrett on Nov. 22, 2000, and brother, Howard Glenn Garrett.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Garrett, LaRue; sons, Joe Garrett, Sunrise Beach, Mo., Tommy Pope, LaRue, Randy Pope, Fort Worth, Floyd Garrett, San Leon, Paul Garrett, Danville, Calif., David Garrett, Frankston, and Kevin Garrett, Sanger; daughters, Pat Miller and Sheila Young, both of Maryville, Tenn., and Becky Moser, Jonestown; mother, Mary Garrett, Mount Pleasant; sister, Carolyn Garrett Glover, Cookville; 27 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Sons served as pallbearers.
Mary Lucile Gregory
NECHES - Services for Mary Lucile Edgeworth Gregory, 72, of Neches were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28 at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Crum officiating.
Burial was at Neches Cemetery.
Mrs. Gregory died Sunday, Nov. 26 at her residence.
She was born in Neches Dec. 11, 1927, to the late Mark and Laura Edgeworth. She was a lifelong resident of Anderson County, member of First Baptist Church, Neches, a retired nurse, member of the Anderson County Genealogy Society, Daughters of the Confederacy and Daughters of the American Revolution. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Lewis Edward Gregory; and a brother, Donald Mark Edgeworth.
Survivors include a son, Jeffery Gregory, Haltom City; daughters, Gloria Yancey, Tyler; Dianna Wallace, Houston; and Vickey Cummings, Palestine; six-grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons were the pallbearers.
Madison Nicole Miller
LARUE - Graveside services for Madison Nicole Miller, infant, LaRue, were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29. at LaRue Cemetery with Brother Joe Smith officiating.
Arrangements were under direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home, Malakoff.
The infant was born and died Nov. 24 in Athens.
Survivors include parents, Billy and Tanya Miller, LaRue; sisters, April Dawn Miller and Rebecca Lynn Miller, both of LaRue; brothers, Justin Keith Miller, Gladewater; Joshua Chance Miller and Brandon Glen Miller, both of LaRue; grandparents, Jack and Bettie Walker, LaRue; Clifford Blink and Cheryl and Christopher Bricks, all of Illinois; great-grandparents, Clifford Blink Sr. and Nellie McCall, both of Athens.
