Linda Ann Parker

Linda Ann Parker was born in Grand Prairie on Oct. 1, 1946 to J.W. and Ellen (Oliver) Parker. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert Lee Parker. 

She is survived by her two children, Kimberly Oliver and Craig Barton and wife Stephanie; six grandchildren: Sean Harlan, Jered Harlan, Ciera Barton, Lewis Barton and wife Kacie, Brianna Barton and fiancé Steven Dorsey, Collin Barton and his promised girlfriend Haylie Dixon; two great-grandchildren, Brock Harlan and McKenslie Barton.

Linda was a longtime resident of LaRue where she resided on what the family lovingly calls Parker Hill Ranch. She retired from Henderson County Tax Assessor and Collector’s Office and worked for A1 Insurance for many years. Linda was loved by many and left her mark of love on many. She was always the life of the party and her laughter was contagious. Linda never met a stranger.

Services will be held at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020. Visitation will start at noon followed with services at 1 p.m. The services will also be held on Facebook Live, for those not able to attend. Kimberly Oliver, daughter, will be officiating the service. Jered Harlan and Stephanie Barton will be providing the music. All family and friends are invited to attend this Celebration of Linda’s Life. It is kindly requested that all visitors wear a mask in light of our current COVID.


Ramona Andrews

Ramona Andrews, age 87, of LaRue passed away on Oct. 8, 2020 at her home. She was born on Oct. 3, 1933 to Robert Leon and Lola (Rease) Bridges in Oak Grove, LA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bobby Andrews; brothers, Harvey Bridges, J.W. Bridges; sisters, Juanita Derr, Arlene Oney and Brenda Bridges. 

Ramona worked for the school in the Cafeteria during her working days. She was a mom and wife and took care of her home. She enjoyed going to garage sales and estate sales in her spare time. From time to time she would go hunting with her husband and son out in west Texas. Ramona was active in the local church and served as Sunday School teacher. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family. 

Survivors include her son, Bruce Andrews; daughters, Barbara Andrews, Rita DuBois and husband David; grandchildren, Devon Milton, JR Eccleston, Damon Andrews, Ashley DuBois, John DuBois, Michael Ruyle and wife Erica; great grandchildren, Jade Eccleston, Jasmine McGee, Justace McGee, Angelina Eccleston, Jacob Eccleston, Braewyn Ruyle and Stark Ruyle; great-great grandchild, Princeton McGee; sisters, Mary Thomas, Myrna Barbin and Maxine Caraway; brothers, Leon Bridges and Doyle Bridges.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020 at Autry’s Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 11 in the chapel. Burial will be at Long Creek Cemetery in Sunnyvale, Tx following the service.


Preston L. Dunn Sr.

Preston L. Dunn Sr. of Elizabeth, AR, born Jan. 17, 1937 to Hurshell and Ophelia “Teagie” (Perry) Dunn, entered eternal life Oct. 17, 2020. He was 83 years old. 

A graveside service is scheduled for Preston at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020 at Wofford Cemetery in Frankston. David Martin will officiate.

Local residents remember that Mr. Dunn spent some of his early years in Frankston and attended Frankston Schools.

Preston was a member of Oak Valley Baptist Church in Elizabeth, AR. He was a beloved teacher and Principal for 32 years throughout the State of Texas until his retirement in 1995.

From then on, he could be found tending to his land, cows, and chickens or enjoying sitting on his porch in Arkansas. Mr. Dunn enjoyed reading his Bible and was a thinker who wasn’t afraid to express himself.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dwayne L. Dunn; sisters, Barbara Morrison (Butch) and Carolyn Horton; and niece, Ruth Ann Horton.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Bertha Dunn of Elizabeth, AR; son, Preston Dunn Jr. (Dorothy) of Blytheville, AR; daughter, Sabrina Waltemeyer (Jeff) of Elizabeth, AR. His siblings are sister, Betty McLeod (Jerry) of Augusta, TX and brother, Allie Dunn (Brenda) of Augusta, TX. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Joe Huff, Kimberly Alloway (Nathan), Preston L. Dunn III, Angela Dunn, Leslie Dunn, Matthew Dunn, Crystal Stallings, Audrey Williams, Brenda Mancia and Ray Medina; 10 great-grandchildren, Aiden, Asher and Auston Alloway, Adrian Dunn, Zach, Hunter and Caleb Stallings, Callie, Wesley and Christian Williams; and many nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Wayne McLeod, Michael McLeod, Stephen McLeod, Lee Horton, William Morrison, Preston L. Dunn III and Joe Huff.

Stephanie Rupert was born Feb. 12, 1964 and entered eternal life Oct. 30, 2020. She was 56 years old.

A funeral service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020 at Flint Baptist Church. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Frankston. Pastor Sam Deville will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Frankston. 

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston. 

Stephanie was a member of Flint Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ty and Betty (Stephens) Dickens. 

Stephanie is survived by her husband John Rupert of Henderson; children, Steven Frazier and wife Jessica of Corsicana, Brandon Brewster and wife April of Palestine, Kimberly Scarbrough and husband Chase of Frankston and Angelica Rupert of Henderson. She is also survived by her sisters, Tammie Finn and husband Mike and Candi Dickens Wood; and grandchildren Skylee, Kolton, Kendall, Karlee, Kadynce, Braelyn, Charlee, Easton and Lincoln. 

Pallbearers will be John Crawford, Terry Jones, Mike Till, William Matthews, Rex Flemming and Dale Stinson.
