We will add pictures to archived obituaries from the print version of The Citizen newspaper prior to September 2019 when available. Pictures with archived obituaries posted after that will be added in cooperation with funeral homes or on requests from families.  As was the tradition of the Citizen newspaper, obituaries are published at no charge.

Louise Henderson Brewer

Graveside services for Louise Brewer, 80, were held on Saturday, July 1 at Old Bethel Cemetery with Elder Jessie Davis officiating under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Brewer passed away Wednesday, June 28.

She was born on December 13, 1925 in Collingsworth County to Jesse and Leona Bingham. She was a member at the Henderson Primitive Baptist Church. According to her family, she had a passion for sewing and was a wonderful cook who took pleasure working in her vegetable garden.

Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by her first husband of 51 years W. H. “Jake” Henderson.

Survivors include her husband, Nabors Brewer of Tyler; sons and daughters-in-law H.L. and Donna Henderson of Ft. Davis, Bill and Paula Henderson of Tyler; daughter and son-in-law Frances and Johnny Coffman of Tyler; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Barbara Crawford

Funeral services for Barbara Ann Richie Crawford, 72 of Tyler, formerly of Frankston were held Saturday, July 1 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.A. Griffin officiating under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston. Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Crawford passed away Wednesday, June 28.

She was born July 26, 1933 in Terrell to Roland Richie and Mary Natalie Richie. She was a nurse for 25 years and served in the Women’s Air Force.

Mrs. Crawford was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include son Ronny Crawford of San Antonio; daughters Suzanne Crawford of Tyler, Cindy McDonald of Canyon Lake, Nanette Villanueva of Longview and Tina Meadows of Garland; sister and brother-in-law Sue and Mac McSpadden of Frankston; best friend Bonnette Belew of Tyler; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Brandon Crow, Daniel J. Villanueva, Daniel F. Villanueva, Bruce McDonald, Marc McDonald and John McDonald

Paul Dickerson

Funeral services for Paul Jasper Dickerson, 74, of Athens were held Friday, June 30 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, Frankston with Bro. Donald Thomas officiating under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston. Burial was at the Poynor Cemetery.

Mr. Dickerson passed away Monday, June 26.

He was born November 6, 1931 in Poynor. He was employed as a carpenter. He was a member of Poynor Church of Christ and had served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include a son Paul Joseph Dickerson; sisters and brothers-in-law Pat House of Frankston, Billie and Bob Henderson of Plant City, Florida, Barbara and Lloyd Hanks of Poynor, and Darlyne and Dave Barnette of Murchison; brother and sister-in-law Monroe, Jr. and Sylvia Dickerson of Athens; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Tommy Dickerson, K.C. Holman, Shaun Hanks, Jammie Hanks, Mike Hanks and Justin Holman.

Floreed Kimbrough

Funeral services for Floreed Elizabeth Kimbrough, 94, of Kaufman were held Tuesday, July 11 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston. Burial was at Olive Branch Cemetery.

Mrs. Kimbrough passed away Saturday, July 8.

She was born December 24, 1911 in Watonga, Oklahoma. She was a retired postal clerk and a member of First Baptist Church of Lindale.

Mrs. Kimbrough was preceded in death by her husband Clayton Barto Kimbrough; an infant daughter Sybil Lorraine Kimbrough; and four brothers Tommy, Frank, Dan and Gene Freeman.

Survivors include her sons David Kimbrough of Mineral Wells and Robert Kimbrough of Mineola; brothers T.D. Freeman and Jesse Milburn Freeman, both of Springtown; sister Annie Myrle Dicus of Kaufman; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Chris Kimbrough, Douglass Kimbrough, Darren Kimbrough and Duane Freeman.

Honorary pallbearers were Mike Griffin, Clarence Evans, Johnny Burks, Jesse Smith Jr., David Coker, Phil Parks and Jimmy Dan Willingham.

Robert E. Williams

Funeral services for Robert E. Williams, 64, were held Tuesday, July 18 at Westwood Church of God in Palestine with Rev. Boyd and Rev. David Godair officiating under direction of Emanuel Funeral Home, Palestine. Burial was at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Crockett.

Mr. Williams passed away Saturday, July 15.

He was born September 7, 1941 in Athens to R.H. “Bob” and Gertrude Williams. Mr. Williams was employed in the construction field serving as the site construction supervisor for many companies in and around Palestine, Tyler and Athens.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years Virginia (Susie) Dunn Williams; sons and daughters-in-law David and Jennifer Williams of Neches, Luther and Randi Williams of Elkhart; daughters and sons-in-law Tina and Johnny Benton, Tonya and Billy Meazell all of Frankston; sisters and brothers-in-law Elizabeth and Rex Jones of Kemp, Jerry Jane and Jim Williams of Chandler, and Dana and Frank McCall of Scurry; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Ricky Ramirez, Luther Ramirez, Doyle Rogers, Micah Blanton, Charles Wardell and B.J. Cole.

Honorary pallbearers were Allen Stephens, Bobby Rea and James Clardy.

Ellen Louise Dameron

Graveside services for Ellen Louise Dameron, 88, of Frankston were held Monday, July 24 at the Frankston City Cemetery with Rev. Curtis Croftin officiating under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston.

Mrs. Dameron passed away Friday, July 21.

She was born May 27, 1918 in Frankston. She was a pastry chef and a member of First Baptist Church, Frankston.

Survivors include daughters Mary Ann Sechrest of High Point, North Carolina, Peggy Benge of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Carolyn Morris of South Haven, Michigan; sister Blanche Merritt of Carlsbad, California; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and three nieces.

Lourine McKee

Graveside services for Lourine McKee, 61, of Frankston were held Thursday, July 27 at 10 a.m. at Bullard Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Dr. E. Everett Nix officiating under direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Bullard.

Mrs. McKee passed away Thursday, July 20.

She was born May 28, 1945 in Stuttgart, Arkansas. She had lived in the Frankston area for 18 years. She was a housewife and a member of the Church of Christ.

Mrs. McKee was preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Mary Warner.

Survivors include her husband James McKee of Frankston; sons James David Boyd and Edward Ray Boyd, Jr. both of Dallas; daughters Shelly Bailey of Priceton and Virginia Lyn Wolfinbarger of Eureka Springs, Arkansas; brothers Virgil Warner of Corsicana and Oscar Warner of Brazoria; 18 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mark Clayton Smith

Funeral services for Mark Clayton Smith, 36, of Houston were held Thursday, June 29 at Garden Oaks Funeral Home in Alief with Dr. Luke Ates officiating.

Mr. Smith passed away Saturday, June 24.

He attended and was in the first graduating class at Mayde Creek High School in 1988. Following high school he was employed by the City of Houston’s Public Works and Engineering Department for ten years. For the past two years, he was employed by H&E Equipment Services in Houston.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Albert (Preacher) and Georgia (Mac) Mae Grimes of Frankston, and paternal grandparents Arlie B. and Ortell Smith of Houston.

Survivors include a son Jordan Smith of Cypress; his parents Jim Smith of Houston and Lola Smith of Katy; brother and sister-in-law Matt and Kelli Smith of Richmond; and a niece Makaila Smith of Richmond.

Anyone wishing to make a donation, may do so to the American Heart Association in the name of Mark Clayton Smith or to a charity of their choice.

‘Papa Charley’ Smith

Funeral services for Oscar “Papa Charley” Smith, 96, of Frankston were held Saturday, July 29 at 2 p.m. at Faith Gospel Church in Frankston with Rev. B. Whitehead officiating under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co., Tyler. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Smith passed away Saturday, July 22.

He was born July 31, 1910 in Winona. He attended Winon Public Schools. Mr. Smith was a resident of Henderson County since 1929. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a retired painter from Curtis Mathes. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he served as deacon and trial leader.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one son.

Survivors include a daughter Ethel Jewel Austin of Frankston; a sister Mae Ella Kelly of Longview; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were William John, Elgie Chancellor, Jerome Scott, Sam Martin, Larry Martin and Deon Warren.

Honorary pallbearers were Finous Austin, Robert Smith, Roger Hurd, Willie V. Henderson, Daryl Paris and Hubbard Warren.

Willie Mae Woods

Funeral services for Willie Mae Woods, 88, of Frankston were held Saturday, July 29 at 11 a.m. at Peoples Baptist Church with Bishop G.L. Haggerty officiating under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co., Tyler. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Woods passed away Saturday, July 22.

She was born February 28, 1918 in Frankston. She was a lifelong resident of Frankston and attended Henderson County schools. She was a homemaker and member of Greater Live Coal Original Holiness Church where she served as Church Mother.

She is survived by sons Lonnie Woods, Fred Woods, Floyd Woods, JimmieWoods, Henry Clifford Woods, Jr., all of Frankston, Troy Woods and Roy Woods of Tyler, and Bennie Davis of Grand Prairie;

daughters Ella Mae Woods of Tyler, Marcella Woods, Betty Joy Woods, Mary Jill Fields, Ruthie Woods Seward, all of Frankston, and Elone Smith of Grand Prairie; 34 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Woods was preceded in death by her parents, husband, nine brothers, three sisters, three sons, two daughters, one granddaughter, one great-grandson and one great-great granddaughter.

Pallbearers were John Earl, Terrell Woods, Alfred Lintz II, Calvin Warren, Desmond Davis, Dell Tilley, Jr., Kirby Davis and Aaron Waddell II.

Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Davis, Clifford Kidd, Nicholas Allen, Phillip Ross, Christopher Ross, Rodger Dotson,Anthony McMorris, Walter McMorris and James Burks.
