Pictures with archived obituaries posted after that will be added in cooperation with funeral homes or on requests from families.  As was the tradition of the Citizen newspaper, obituaries are published at no charge.

Pamela Walker Tippett

Funeral services for Pamela Walker Tippett, 45, of Jacksonville were held Tuesday, October 31 at Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston with J.A. Griffin officiating under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston. Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Tippett passed away Friday, October 27.

She was born October 19, 1961 in Jacksonville. She was a cook for over ten years at 7B Restaurant. She was a Baptist. Mrs. Tippett was preceded in death by daughter, Dawn Mitchell Walker, mother Glenda Dugan Little and father Rayford Walker.

Survivors include her spouse Thomas Tippett of Temple; brothers Keith Walker of San Antonio and Bobby Walker of Forney; daughters Ashley Nancy of Mt. Selman and Samantha Tippett of Jacksonville; sister Janet Inlow of Jacksonville; one grandson and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Clint Wofford, Justin Flamery, Preston Nash, Chris Nash, Tony Thomas and Josh Cousin.

Ruth Marrs McDonald

Funeral services for Ruth Marrs McDonald, 92, of Navasota were held Wednesday, November 1 at Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston with Davy Carter officiating under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston. Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. McDonald passed away Sunday, October 29.

She was the first of eight children born to Sam and Jimmie Green Marrs on June 27, 1914 in Frankston. She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church, Frankston and a former member of Eastern Star.

Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years W.C. “Slick” McDonald; brothers John “Bud,” Garlon “Red” and James “Black” Marrs; sisters Nell Hosch and Carolyn Marrs Vrazel.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Clarence and Bonnie McDonald of Brenham, and Reagan and Bobbie McDonald of Bryan; brothers Vernon “White” and Earline Marrs both of Galena Park; sister-in-law Alice Marrs of San Antonio; five grandchildren Cheri, Diane, Connie, Michael and David; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Richard Forest Bartlow

Memorial services for Richard Forest Bartlow, 77, of Frankston were scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, November 11 at the Noonday United Methodist Church, Flint with Rev. Rhett Ansley officiating under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston. Interment was scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, November 12 at Cathedral In The Pines, Tyler.

Mr. Bartlow passed away Thursday, November 2.

He was born August 5, 1929 in Papineau, Illinois to Arthur and Anna Bartlow. He had served in the U.S. Air Force and was employed with Delta Airlines in Atlanta, Georgia for 35 years as a ramp supervisor. He was a member of Noonday United Methodist Church in Flint.

Mr. Bartlow was preceded in death by his parents, one older.brother and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years Marianna Bartlow of Frankston; son Matthew Bartlow of Keller; daughter Lynda Johnson of Grand Prairie; two granddaughters, one grandson, one step-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

Donations may be made to either Noonday United Methodist Church or Frankston Health Care Center.

Mark L. Milliken

Memorial services for Mark L. Milliken, 33, of Dallas and formerly of Frankston were held Monday, November 6 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, Frankston with Rev. Doug Howell and Rev. George Folmar officiating under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston.

Mr. Milliken passed away Tuesday, October 31.

He was born August 14, 1973 to Tim Milliken and Teri Barr in South Bend, Indiana. He grew up in Lydick, Indiana and Friendswood, Texas and graduated from Neches High School in 1992. Mr. Milliken was employed by Empire as a merchandiser for Lowe’s.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Marvin L. Milliken, Herbert L. Swartz, Rhea M. Swartz, and James and Gracie Barr.

Survivors include his father Tim G. Milliken of Neches; mother and step-father Teri and Tommy Barr of Frankston; grandmother Dixie Milliken of Mission; sister and brother-inlaw Shawn and Michael Cartwright of Neches; brothers Stanly Barr of Frankston, CPL. Kirk Barr and wife K’Lynn of Quantico,

Virginia, and MMFN Michael Joe Barr of Norfolk, Virginia; nephew and nieces Austin, Katilyn, Ashilyn and Megan; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and best friends Scotty Taylor and Bill Lamar.

Clifton Thrift

Funeral mass for Clifton Thrift, 64, of Jacksonville were held Friday, November 10 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with Father Mark officiating under direction of Boren-Conner

Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Burial was in Corine Cemetery.

Mr. Thrift passed away Monday, November 6.

He was born May 16, 1942 in Houston to Robert and Ernestine Thrift. He resided in the Jacksonville area for the past 40 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic

Church in Jacksonville. Mr. Thrift worked as an exterminator with International Exterminating

in Jacksonville. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, National Wild Turkey Federation, Knights of Columbus and the National Rifle Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jeannie Thrift and his

parents.

Survivors include daughters Karen Rhame of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Amanda Thrift of Jacksonville, and four grandchildren Blake and Ethan Rhame, Nathan Thrift and Bryan Coats.

Pallbearers were Ronnie O’Dell, Ray Jackson, Jim Hamlett, Ron Decker, Tim Taylor and Eddie Lumpkin.

Honorary pallbearers were Joseph Perkins, Jerry Perkins, Jimmy Mayfield and Gilbert Robles.

Alice Richards

Graveside services for Alice C. Richards, 94, of Tyler were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 11 at Frankston CityCemetery. Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. at Lloyd James Funeral Home chapel, Tyler with Dr. Jim Reiter officiating.

Mrs. Richards passed away Thursday, November 9.

She was born September 17, 1912 in Frankston to the late Joe Frank and Bessie Saunders Morris. She lived in Tyler for 70 years, was a homemaker and a Methodist.

She was preceded in death by her husband Horace L. Richards and sister Bessie Jo Tyler.

Survivors include a niece Ann Tyler of Fort Worth.

Pallbearers were Gordon Bryson, Richard Saunders, Bob Benson, Ray Collins, Jerry McQueen and Steve Bryson.

Floyd Jeffery “Jeff” House

Graveside services for Floyd Jeffery“Jeff” House, 46, of Jacksonville were held Tuesday, November 21 at Corine Cemetery near Jacksonville with Rev. Davis Hallum officiating under direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

Mr. House passed away Friday, November 17.

He was born December 17, 1959 in Jacksonville. He worked in construction and was a Methodist.

Mr. House was preceded in death by his grandparents Charlie and Pearl House, Mr. and Mrs. Art Bacon, and Gordon Stewart, and uncles Wayne House and David Bacon.

Survivors include his father Billy House of Frankston; mother Nanci House of Jacksonville; sister Janet Wimmer of Jacksonville; brother and sister-in-law Randy and Tonya House of Frankston; and uncle Troy House of Frankston.

Gurlen G. Ellis

Funeral services for Gurlen G. Ellis, 70, of Dogwood City were held Monday, November 20 at Thompson Funeral Home chapel, Frankston with Bro. David Michael officiating under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston. Burial was in Frankston City Cemetery.

Mr. Ellis passed away Friday, November 17.

He was born May 21, 1936 in Waxahachie. He was self employed as the owner/operator of Oak Cliff Plating Co. in Dallas. He was a Baptist.

Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by his wife Faye L. Ellis; father Gurlen Ellis; mother Mary (Rutherford) Ellis; sister Maggie Templin and brother Don Ellis.

Survivors include son William Gene Ellis of League City; daughters Sherrie Taylor of Dogwood City and Janis Ellis of Dallas; brother James Ellis of Nevada; sisters Nella Willbanks of Tyler and Ann Kinsala of Mississippi; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were David (Doc) Garlo, Darrell Clinsmith, David Byers, Phil Atteberry, Joe Crawley and Keith Williams.

Walter L. “Chuck” Moore

Funeral services for Walter L. “Chuck” Moore, 84, of Cedar Park and formerly of Lufkin were held Monday, November 20 at Thompson Funeral Home chapel, Frankston with Davy Carter officiating under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston. Burial was in Dabbs Cemetery.

Mr. Moore passed away Friday, November 17.

He was born August 25, 1922 to William Henry Moore, Sr. and Lizzie Hannah Moore in Karnack. He was a retired FAA Air Traffic Controller and Lufkin airport manager. He served in World War II from 1940-1946 as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Mr. Moore was a member of VFW in Cedar Park and Karnack Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his spouse Sue Dabbs Moore of Cedar Park; daughters and sons-in-law Wanda and Jimmy Wankan of Lufkin, Kay Elliott of San Antonio, Mary and Ron Herrington of Lufkin, Melanie Moore of Dripping Springs, and Laurie and Brent Bramhall of Liberty Hill; grandchildren Jason Camp and wife Carrie, Rebecca Yates and husband Artie, Toni Haas and husband Brady, Randy Maddux, Stephen Scott Maddux, Hannah Herring and Michael, Matthew, Brittany and Nichols Bramhall; great grandchildren Lauren and Carson Camp; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Ron Herrington, Brent Bramhall, Jimmy Wankan, Jason Camp, Erwin Dabbs and Ronny Norris.

Atma Berniece Cook

Funeral services for Atma Berniece Cook, 86, of Frankston were held Sunday, November 26 at Assembly of God Church with Rev. J.A. Griffin and Rev. Ben Terry officiating under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston. Burial was in Noonday Cemetery.

Mrs. Cook passed away Friday, November 24.

She was born May 21, 1920 in Rockwall. She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church, Frankston.

Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband Tommy Green Cook and brother Paul VanPelt.

Survivors include son Wesley Ben Cook of Somerville; daughters and son-in-law Sue and Lee Roy Sessions of Ponta, and Jackie Peterson of Frankston; sister Mary Legow; grandchildren Ben Terry, Pete Terry, Carentha Martin, Misty Gentels and Eric Peterson, eleven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Pete Terry, Bill Douglas, Eric Peterson, Steve Patterson, Dean Guillory and Jimmy Zednick, Jr. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Raymond Perry

Funeral services for Raymond Jackson Perry, 77, of Kilgore were held Saturday, November 25 at the Unity Baptist Church with Rev. Cecil Marr officiating under direction of Bailey Mortuary, Cotton Valley, Louisiana. Burial was in the Cotton Valley Cemetery.

Mr. Perry passed away Monday, November 20. He was a Baptist and was a supervisor for Hunt Oil Company for 42 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Cox Perry, granddaughter Stephanie Roberts, and brothers William Perry and Robert Perry, Jr.

Survivors include daughters and son-in-law Sandra Perry of Haughton, LA, and Pamela and Bryan Roberts of Tuttle, OK; sons and daughter-in-law Gene Perry of North Richland Hills, and Richard and Linda Perry of Frankston; grandchildren Steven Perry, Roxana Perry, Cassie Roberts, Nicholas Perry, Jonathan Perry, Tiffany Roberts and MiKayla Perry; sister Margie Such of Conroe; and brother Jerry Perry of Houma, LA.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to the Tyler Continued Care, fourth floor; Sister Margo, Chaplin Nazare and Chaplin Stephanie.
