Glenda (Smith) Lambeth
A funeral service for Glenda (Smith) Lambeth, 80, is scheduled 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022 at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville with Steve Handley officiating. She will be laid to rest at Mixon Cemetery.
Visitation will begin on Monday, Oct. 17, 2022 and friends are cordially invited to visit with Lambeth family from 6 to 8 o’clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Glenda was born April 24, 1942 and entered into eternal life on Oct. 11, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Ray and Minnie Virginia (Spraggins) Smith; brother, George Norman Smith; and granddaughter, Morgan Finley Lambeth.
Left to cherish Glenda’s memory are her husband of 53 years, Louie J. Lambeth of Mixon; son, Adam Lambeth and his wife Brista of Whitehouse. Her siblings are Larry Smith and wife Kay of Gallatin, Juanice Foster of New Boston, and Curtis Smith and wife Nancy of Frankston. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Brock, Henry, Georgia, and Maggie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews Jody Smith of Gallatin, Eric Smith of Kennard, Charlie Smith of La Vernia, Curt Smith of Bullard, Chad Smith of Hurst, and Donnie Matura of Mineral Wells. Honorary pallbearers are nephews Stacy Lambeth of Jacksonville, Jason Lollar of New Boston, and great nephew Aaron Laube of Katy.
Hazel (Bizzell) Grubbs
A funeral service for Hazel (Bizzell) Grubbs, 91, is scheduled 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 24, 2022 at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston with Bro. Davis Dixon officiating. She will be laid to rest at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Frankston.
Visitation will begin on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022 and friends are cordially invited to visit with the Grubbs family from 6 to 8 o’clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.
She was a loving mother of seven children and dedicated wife of 63 years. She raised her family while her husband served our country for 26 years.
Hazel was born May 27, 1931 and entered into eternal life on Oct. 20, 2022.
She was preceded in death by mother, Lorenna Jones; husband, Robert Henry Grubbs; son, Robert D. Grubbs; brothers, Melvin “Shag” Bizzell, Tommy Jones, Johnnie Jones, Mike Jones, and Steve Jones.
Left to cherish Hazel’s memory are her children, Glenda Dixon and husband David of Frankston, Sue Reeves and husband Mike of Austin, Dennis Grubbs of Frankston, David Grubbs and wife Carolyn of Frankston, Mary Hokit and husband Billy of Frankston, Lori Eberhart and husband Michael of Rockwall. Her siblings are Linda Terrell, Pat Henderson, and Jerry Jones and wife Joni all of Frankston. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be John Rupert, Jason Levassar, Jeff Grubbs, Cody Grubbs, Josh Hokit, Troy Reeves, Luke Reeves, Chris Hokit, and Jason Dixon. Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons.
Larry Gene Gardner
Larry Gene Gardner passed away at 87 years young on Oct. 17, 2022 at his home in Frisco, Texas.
Born Oct. 11, 1935, Larry attended school in Kansas City, MO. At the age of 14, he had the misfortune of having polio. This helped to set the trajectory of his life. With the help of family, significantly, his older brother, Don, recovered and went on to have a varied career.
While still in school, he had a paper route and worked as a soda jerk. After high school, he was a copy machine technician, moving up the ranks to becoming a salesperson for the Charles Bruning Company. He traveled the country for them setting up new offices and training sales teams, eventually ending up in Dallas.
While in Dallas, he left the Bruning Company to work for himself, starting the very successful Bonnie Business Forms and Quality Printing, Inc. company he ran for 25 years. During this period, he tried his hand at the restaurant business by buying Pierre’s by The Lake.
In 1996, he decided to retire from the printing company, so he sold his company and purchased a Ranch in Poynor, TX, which his wife Jean named LaBronca Ranch, where he lived happily for 20 years. Running cattle and horses, he was able to live his dream of ranching.
It was all about family and friends visiting for cookouts, Thanksgiving and Christmas, the occasional pool tournament, and bi-yearly cattle roundups. During this period, he traveled the United States visiting all 50 states with Jean. When Jean passed away, ranching lost its luster, so he gave all of that up and moved to Frisco, TX to be close to his remaining family.
In Frisco, he found an entirely new flock of friends and had many hobbies that kept him busy, cocktails at 4 on his patio, poker games, Cowboy games, puzzles, and it was rumored that he even knew every western star from the 40s onward.
Larry was preceded in death by Bonnie Jean “Hawker” Gardner, the love of his life for 58 years. His parents, Louise and Harry “Bob” D. Gardner, and son Bruce Lynn Gardner.
He will be greatly missed by his surviving family: brother Donald C. Gardner, wife Nancy of Pittsburg, TX, and Michael Gardner, wife Linda of Joplin, MO; daughter Carissa Gardner-Bramlett, of Little Elm, TX; sons Danny G. Brown, wife Regina of Southlake, TX, and Dennis G. Brown, wife Marie of Carrollton, TX; grandchildren, Jackie Rae Munger, of St. Joseph, MO, Ariel Seitz of Chesapeake, VA, husband Devon, Daniel Brown of Carrollton, TX, wife Fahren, Nick Brown of Chapel Hill, NC, wife Kirstin, Stephanie Cagle of Saginaw, TX, Derek Gardner of Celina, TX, wife Karry, Kane Gardner of Frisco, TX, Jared Brown of Carrollton, TX, Adam Brown of Southlake, TX; More than a few great-grandchildren, Skyleigh, Dakota, John, Joey, Nolan, Tyler, Hudson, Parker, Reese, Bryson, Liam, Lilah, Brixlee and one great-great grandchild Joslyn.
A viewing was scheduled Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston. The graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Nov. 19, 2022 from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Frisco Lakes Northside Activity Center.
Mary Blake
A funeral service for Mary Blake, 82, is scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 28, 2022, at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston with Bro. Sam DeVille officiating. She will be laid to rest at Olive Branch Cemetery, Brushy Creek.
Visitation will be on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022, and friends are cordially invited to visit with the Blake family from 4 to 6 o’clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.
Mary was born Sept. 27, 1940 and entered into eternal life on Oct. 22, 2022.
She volunteered her free time to meals on wheels and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church – Gresham. Mary will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow Sharp and Emogene Harvey Sharp; husband, Frank Blake; sisters, Francis Sharp and Martha Kardash; and grandson, Christopher Johnson.
Left to cherish Mary’s memory are children, Lenny Blake and wife Laura of Hico, Texas, Larry Blake and wife Marcie of Seguin, Texas, Linda Gentry and husband Randy of Bullard, and Lisa Johnson and husband Randy of Frankston. Also left to treasure her memory are her six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Blake, Jared Blake, Erik Gentry, Isaac Roberts, Michael Marcano, and Bodi Arthur. Honorary pallbearers are Porter Roberts, Enzo Marcano, and Jace Blake.
